Anima - The Antilope

It's been a while since I made a post here and this artwork will be the last of the first part of the Anima series, but that doesn't mean I won't be back to it, just that I feel it is enough for now..
At the moment I am at the beginning of a new project that will probably take quite some time to be completed but it is a step up and something I had in my mind for some years now.. Not sure when it will be the next time I post something here but I am excited and as soon as I have something concrete and finalized I will for sure share my progress here.. For now here is the sixth artwork of the Anima series..

Anima - The Owl

Well this time the choice was not so unique for sure, but you can't argue that the Owl is an intriguing animal and the fact it represents wisdom made it all the more appropriate for the 5th artwork in the anima series.. Brown makes this artwork seem a bit more realistic colour-wise than the previous endeavours but it still retains their fantastical theme in my opinion..

Anima - The Lynx

This time I wanted to try my hand on a more rare animal, so I chose the Lynx.. It is a very interesting animal for sure but the reason for me to make an artwork of it was its unique appearance which while resembling a big cat it has some very distinctive characteristics and I always get a "mystical" feeling from it..

Anima - The Elephant

So here is the 3rd artwork of the anima series.. Elephants.. If you had asked me some time ago if I would ever draw this animal the answer you would receive would be a "hell no".. Due to certain circumstances in my life it happened that this was the next animal I had to choose for this artwork.. No matter what will happen this was a challenge and forced me to exit my comfort zone trying once again a new thing.. The result is nice in my opinion and perhaps one of the highlights of these series..

Anima - The Wolf

This is the second artwork in my "Anima" series.. This time I went for a more cold theme and choosing one of my favourite animals which is the Wolf. I was especially pleased with his fair and the mystical vibes and in the end I couldn't help myself and added a castle on a cliff..

Anima - The Crow

This artwork is the first of a new series of artworks I intend to create.. In the spirit of trying new things I decided to draw animals.. I know by itself is not a very original idea, but I wanted to try my hand and practise with watercolours even more.. As I am a lover of fantasy I came up with the idea to make the animals as colourful souls.. spirits if you like.. I always loved the concept of using few colours for an artwork and try to make it like a theme of sorts.. So without further ado here is the first..

Starfire

In this artwork I wanted to create a female portrait with warm yellow tones used.. I think it is a step up from my previous watercolour efforts in terms of a portrait as it feels abit more like an artwork made with this medium and had lots of fun creating it. Now this girl is like a manifastation of the power of the sun in my mind.. It gives me a feeling of bright possitive strength and a warm feeling..

Yin or Yang

There is no elaborate plan/concept for this one.. just me playing a bit with the Yin Yang symbol. I plan to revisit it again as it is one of my favourite symbols but for now here are a few brush strokes for it in a very simple way..

Starborn

The concept of this artwork was to have the skin of a beautiful girl break and something to appear from inside.. After some brainstorming I decided in the end to instead have something dark or creepy appear inside to have something colourful.. So there is a kind of purple universe hiding inside of her and in contrast with what many other artists have done we see that this girl hides something beautiful inside her...

Usher

This artwork was again inspired from another short story written by Edgar Allan Poe named "The House of Usher". I really loved the atmosphere of the story and all the images I got in my mind regarding the old Manor where everything happens. I wanted for the Manor and the Blood Red Moon to be prominent and opted for a white background where the black trees would look nice in contrast. I believe that I at least got the bloody/creepy vibe in a nice way and while doing this with watercolours proved a bit of a challenge for meI must say I end up having lots of fun making this artwork..

Liz

After my "landscape" attempts this time I tried to create an artwork of a woman's portrait, without any real concept but just to try my hand.. I must say that I'm not very pleased with the final result but regardless it is done and it was an interesting first try..

New Horizons

This is the second of the "landscape style" artworks I did and what I had in mind was to create a sky with weird colours with purple as the main choice.. In the end I opted to have a high fantasy feeling with a magical ship sailing through these skies.. The concept in the end is all about freedom and the promise of adventure..

Valley

After my first attempt with watercolour inks I decided to experiment some more, soso I made two "landscape" artworks to see how the result would be.. So here is the first one were I played with warm colours and wanted to create a landscape with lots of red and yelow in the sky..

Spirit

Roaming to new artistic horizons I decided to try yet another new medium for me.. This is my first artork made with Watercolour Inks and I must say they're tons of fun! The colour hues are vibrant and have an awesome flow.. Of course I am very new to using them so I have a long way to go but I think I will focus on this new medium and try to evolve as an artist trough it and also through new and unique theme choices for me.. So here is the first one made with only the three basic colours and white..

Pluto

So this is my second attempt to use charcoal.. I used a special kind of paper to give an old feeling to the artwork.. This artwork is inspired by a short story written by Edgar Allan Poe with the title "Black Cat".. It is one of my favourite stories from this author and is based on the last "scene' of the story.. so here is Pluto..

Elsa

It has been 6 years since my last entry here and the reason was that I went on a hiatus in terms of drawing and to be honest I did not expect to return again.. But as they say never say never so here we are... I am a bit rusty for sure but I thought I try new mediums and soar on new horizons as an artist.. So here is my first try with charcoal..

Character Portraits of the "Sentinels of Shadows - Unrully Alliances" Campaign

Again it's been a long time since my last entry... I have no real excuse for this so I will go ahead and post some portrait artworks I had created for an online campaign in which I was GM...

Clock Tower

Greetings. It seems I have entered once a period of inspiration and as a result I have completed another artwork today. It is a concept I had in mind to realise for some time now but due to the "dry season" I was having it is only now that I managed to pull it together and make it.

I was always fascinated by the idea of Clock Towers and I had the idea of creating an artwork with the inside of one. Here we have a vampiric creature of some sort who has kidnapped a maiden and took her to his tower in order for him to satisfy his thirst for blood and his lust for her.

Anyway this is the end result, hope you like it and feel free to comment on it as always...

Lady Of Winter

Yes, it's been what, one day? Ok maybe not one but two but you do get my point I believe. I'm back with another artwork and it is my second attempt to create an artwork purely on my pc. So this time I wanted to have a forest theme and after some consideration (and experimentation) the lady of winter came to fruition.

Again it's not cream of the crop, but it is a step up from the first aertwork in this style and in the right direction I believe. Good news with this system is that I save up valuable time and can have a quite different experience drawing. Regardless I plan on playing some more with this technique and see where can I go with it.

Finally I would like to dedicate this artwork to a certain person who has inspired me to be a better me and rekindled my inspiration...

Gargoyle

Bump. Yeah it's been ages since my last entry here, but then again it's not such a great pause as the previous one. Now what I'm putting out here is not excactly high and mighty stuff, but at this point any activity is progress and as such I will treat any andeavour as a full entry in the blog.

So onwards to the artwork itself. Up until now I created my artworks with my trusted pencil and I would then use the pc in order to apply colour and finish it. As some of you already know there are artists who make their artworks entirely on their pc without the usage of any tradional mediums. Well today I thought I'd give it a try and see for myself what can be done by me in this style.

Granted it's a simple piece of art but I did not want to delve to deep in a first try and instead opted to play with a simple theme. So the result is the artwork below and it is entirely made on my pc. Don't know if I'll use this way of drawing again in the future but I sure had fun making this...
